Just when we think we’ve

figured things out, life throws us

another riddle.

that I trained him when it’s clear

 he’s still training me.

Morning winds foretell

a day of icy chill as

the sun defiantly shines.

Saying yes to no

when the workload overflows –

the best way to go.

Old wounds still remain.

but now it’s our defenses

that cause us the pain.

Teachers surround us.

If we would stop and listen,

there’s much to be learned.

Corn’s been harvested.

Cut stalks on the ground remain.

They’re times when I feel the same.

Full moon shimmers through

clouds, reminding us the stars,

though hidden, are there.

I don’t know if you’ve

ever been scolded by crows,

but they waste no caws.

Rushing to do good,

we focus on arrival

rather than the path.
