seed when sweet nectar abounds

in blossoms nearby.

and grass overflow with joy.

Rain has come at last.

earth, those massive sunflowers

and brought us delight.

A burst of purple

blooms insured our morning walk

wouldn’t be a bust.

The days sail by, but,

having missed the boat, we stand

on shore lost at sea.

Her eyes weren’t closed, but

she was asleep, lost in dreams

of what might have been.

Counting to ten might

work for some, but for me it’s

more like one thousand.
