Swimming in a sea

of silence, I surrender

and sublimely float.

a restless wind, old thoughts toss

in weary heads.

peace, shattering the morning’s

soft cacophony.

I write and, if I’m lucky,

what appears is light.

it is easy to see what

to scratch every itch.
