Now that the pond’s thawed,

Knox can run free.With a great

big grin off he goes.

The cows are boasting

they caused the sun to rise, but

the crows disagree.

With her beak open,

a female cardinal signals

hunger to her mate.

If only there was

 medication  for the pain

cruelty causes.

 Wrapping yourself in

a crazy patchwork quilt of

 pets, family and friends.

Reminded once more

of the many things I have

to be grateful for.

Every day Knox finds

tail-wagging joy and invites

me to find it too.

In spite of sitting

drenched in light, enlightenment

remains out of sight.
