Rushing can make me

lose time – a lesson I had

to relearn today.

life’s poetry when it’s there

right in front of me.

to practice patience, but I

could do without most of them.

the remembering.

he was beloved, I swear he

sighed and rolled his eyes.

purple clover, I bow to

a royal presence.

The ever-changing

scene at the bird feeder –

nature’s remedy.

A splash of sunlight

at day’s end ignites the trees

and our rain soaked souls.

Who would ever think big storms

 are headed our way?
