Recalibration

Friends helped me pull the circuit breaker that

stopped the crazy

circular

loop of

thought

and

feeling

running through

my system. Once

stilled, I felt a sudden surge of wisdom.

On Reflection

I’d like to think it was me and not its

own reflection

that drew that

sparrow

to

my

window –

ah it’s back –

that eternal

 romantic versus realist duel.

Insight

It’s funny how our vision improves when

we open our

eyes, unseal

our hearts

and

let

the doors

of our minds

swing wide and free –

something not encouraged by Fox tv.

On My Way

After being trapped in a sauna of

small stuff, I say

no more sweat

for me

’cause

I’m

going

to head for

a higher ground

of cool surveyance and a broader view.

Beyond Contention

When I’m not arguing for or against,

who knows what will

come from a

center

where

all

are held?

What will sprout

when contention

cracks and new green is allowed to emerge?

When Awareness Returns

When awareness returns,  I can see through

the fog of thought

and breathe in

shoulders

held

tight,

breathe out

tall, swaying

trees shimmering

at water’s edge in early morning light.

Big Questions

Caught in an argument, I ask myself,

” Do I want to

connect or

do I

want

to

win?” This

is enough

to give me pause…

Can I listen to both myself and him?

A Matter Of Time

That jay was so busy chasing others

away he did

not find time

to eat.

Some

might

see a

lesson here

unless they are

so busy they can’t find the time to look.

Birthday Bash

“How am I magnificent?” I asked and

then began to

name the ways.

Grandkids

sighed

and

rolled their

eyes. “What?” I

asked. “Shouldn’t we

love ourselves?” “Yes,” they said, “but not so much.”

Poetry Of A’s

Angry adolescents of any age

adamantly

argue that

they are

right

and

you are

wrong although

any adult

will assess their argument as addled.
