Itching to solve this problem or that, I
scratch around for
answers. When
none come,
I
scratch
some more
until what
results is a
self-inflicted open wound that festers.

Couldn’t see clearly in the morning mist.
Forced to slow down.
I began
to see
what
I
hadn’t
seen before –
unexpected
benefit of a clouded point of view.

There are times to go fast; there are times to
go slow. When we’re
out of sync
problems
start.
Let’s
listen
to what each
moment asks of

You can’t hurry a poem. Waiting is

You may eat anything in the garden

It’s
hard
for us
humans not
to focus on
what we can’t have and lose sight of the rest.

The true meaning of family became clear
when so many
pitched in and
worked real
hard
to
make this

necessary
transition and double move possible.

other pronoun
rules and ways need patience as we adjust.

In our present discord, Christmas music
weaves wonder, peace,
and joy back
into
the
frayed
fabric
of our lives,
reminds us of
hope’s renewal in the darkest of times.

It began with the body, but ended
with the mind – this
noticing
that set
a
trapped
part free –
a part caught
running the wheel
of similar stimulus-old response.
