For What It’s Worth

Sitting at this intersection watching

the traffic come

and go, I

reflect

all

causes

and all past

conditions that

brought precisely us, precisely now, to

this exact place –

folks, cars, lights,

road, trees,

me.

One

tiny

change over

time and all would

be other than it is right here, right now.

The Fix

Just a little tweak or two, maybe more

will set things right.

It’s now or

never,

say

and dive

right in, though

much more often,

when I do, things go very, very wrong.

Would the world end

if I learned

to put

trust

not just

in myself

but in much more?

Fixing has gotten me into a fix.
