On these winter days,
when the sun sails past
the clouds and splashes us
with golden light
we shiver…not from the cold,
but from delight.

We heard
the same words
from the same mouth
at the same time,
but we walked away
with very different feelings.

If only they would listen,
they might learn something.
If only we would listen,
we might learn something,
We’re all so busy pouring forth,
we take little in.
What if when the final silence nears
all we hear
is the sound of our own voice?

quarantine a short trip to
the dump made my day.

when we’re bathed in warm sunlight.

Our minds are as good
at causing problems as they
are at solving them.
JDG
Moonlight kisses
partially frozen pond…
I smile and say goodnight.

That small deer came
up to the house and Knox
bounded out to greet him…
Sadly, his mother
wouldn’t let him stay.
JDG
No deep thoughts
or profound revelations,
just the simple pleasure
of watching the steady
fall of snow.
JDG
They came without my asking,
those small winged creatures,
bringing comfort, removing gloom.
