Murphy invites me to join
her in a moment of purrs.

into unknown waters, we
emerge to find the known changed.

Today October
is in a sunny mood. but
yesterday she was in tears.

Whenever I leave
the room, Murphy scolds me for
failing to ask permission.

Watching the birds feed
nourishes my spirit, lifts me
from the doldrums, lets me fly.
