raven sits on the porch rail,

dines, looks around and then leaves.

he returned.Apparently

his friend. Pax, was not at home.

The trees greet the moon

with raised branches as she

makes her way  across the sky.

Yesterday we got

a three-in-one package from

Mother Nature: rain, sleet, snow.

Side by side they sleep,

these two unrelated cats

who have become sweet sisters.

Starting tomorrow,,,

a promise made today, but

one also made yesterday.

Treasuring quiet

moments before the chaos

of another storm begins.

Numb fingers, numb toes,

but fortunately the mouth’s

  still  able to lodge complaints.

The big explorer

finally returned home. His paws

decided to take a pause.
