They had a good run

those sunflowers. and though they’re

fading fast, they will come back.

running here and there, that vine

proudly reveals its colors.

of aging is not feeling 

guilty for taking a nap.

We were regaled with

something that sounded more like

bird commentary than song.

Little did they know,

but more knowledge would not help,

What this task needed was heart.

hummingbirds and bees find their

pleasure as birds dine nearby.

Ocean’s many moods

have an impact on the shore

and on all who dwell nearby.

Whether in full leaf

or totally bare, a tree’s

always completely there..

In spite of the heat,

those bachelor buttons stood by

the side of the road and waved.

 Instead of waiting

for the other shoe to drop,

let’s put on our shoes and walk.
