Summer couldn’t wait

so slipped itself into this

blue sky, bright Spring day.

The lace of flowers,

yellow, white, purple, and pink –

delicate Spring cloth

                                                                                                          JDG

Wisteria weeps

with joy amidst a choir

humming hymns to Spring.

Against that stark field,

Spring has embroidered golden

flowers and pink trees.

After last night’s storm

soft morning light caresses

the new-fallen tree.

A wee bird perches

on the fallen tree, fluffs its

feathers – mighty me!

Slowly turning green,

a scattering of yellow –

early claims of Spring.

                                                                                     JDG

If not warm, at least

our days have brightened some with

 clear skies and gold sun.

On a harsh winter

day friends bring daffodils and

set the room aglow.

A world turned upside

down – reflections from above –

a morning pondscape

                                                                                           JDG

No windy bluster –

just a faint whisper of white

on this icy morn
