sunny quips; the land responds
with frosty twinkles
When anxiety
visits, I’ll breathe in its noise
and breathe out music.

after days of rain, sparkle
in the morning sun.

As the fire of
fall slowly flames out, we look
for warmth within.

In arms of pines lost
leaves rest before they begin
their final descent.

Wild blue heron
takes flight at first light and not
even the pond stirs.

After a day of
surprising quiet, night came
tiptoeing in.

As the evening sun
crowns the trees in golden light,
the stilled pond reflects.

There’s only so much
bending even trees can do
before they snap.
