Slowly the trees burst

into fireless flames and

set the land aglow.

the slowly moving clouds blushed

pink at night’s approach.

Foggy beginning

but a clear, sunny ending

to a slow paced day.

Beneath the night sky

we walk with flashlights, waiting

for the rising moon.

Four little mushrooms,

alike but distinct, basking

in the noonday sun.

Fire flies, blinking

beacons of lively light, end

the day, welcome night.

As the day closes

we’re honored with a steam bath,

compliments of earth and rain.

Droplets from the sky

visit the welcoming pond

and they blend right in.

Dark tree branches etched

against evening’s scarlet sky –

beauty at day’s end.
