In big winds

deep rooted trees sway

but seldom break.

May we learn

from these wise trees.

in the warm wash

of kindness,

I know

how healing it can be.

Out my way

cows and donkeys

graze in peace.

No fence or wall

separates them.

Imagination-

a life vest

for some,

a hornets’ nest

for others.

If only

we humans

were as committed

to seeking the light

as are these trees…

Frost covered fields

Warm sun rising

Toby and I walk

Stops and starts

Quiet outside, noise within

                                          JDG

It will be hard, I know,

but it’s way past time

to give up whine.

 It‘s been my means

of first resort.
