Trees are beginning
to slowly change their summer
attire for warmer hues.

Foggy Fall mornings
slow things down and encourage
us to look around,
and through the mist we find time
to simply sit and make rhymes.

In a strange way
I’ve grown fond of
those cantankerous Jays,
but I don’t think my feeling
are shared by the other birds.

When a friend brought me
a poem I had written
years ago, I was
moved by her thoughtfulness
and by the poem itself.

Driving home alone,
I’m accompanied by the sun,
the trees wave hello,
the cows look up and moo.
the horses give a hearty neigh,
and when I arrive home, the breeze
whispers,”The moon’s coming soon”.

Autumn’s cool vibes
warm our hearts
after our heated encounter
with Summer.

Round and round he goes,
but where he will stop
only Knox knows.

Sun and clouds compete.
Each wants to set the tone for the sky.
Right now the race is tied.
