Waiting, Wanting, And More

I wait impatiently

for the traffic to move.

Tension grows. Questions begin.

Why didn’t I leave earlier?

Why didn’t I leave later?

Why didn’t I go a different way?

Waiting’s not easy.

It’s all about wanting.

wanting what’s not currently here.

I shift gears. I breathe.

I look up at the sky.

We’re here together –

the sky, the stalled traffic, and I.

The Blooming Truth

They’re not trying for first,

those trees, bushes, flowers

and shrubs. They note conditions

and bloom in their own way and

in their own time.

We could learn from them.

JDG

Why?

Saturday at last

but why did I think I could

linger in bed, start

the day slow when cats and Knox

clearly had another plan?

Redbud Commentary

If those redbud trees

could speak, I wonder

what they’d say

as we hurry by.

Oh wait, I think

I heard  some

colorful language about

  creatures in a rush.

All Aflutter

It looked like some sort

of ceremonial  dance,

making me wonder

if those two birds were courting

or had just gotten married,

though I do know for certain

Knox and the cats were not invited.
