A few leaves still cling
to the only home
they’ve ever known.
Like us, they resist
letting go even though
it’s clear “the times
they are ‘a-changing’.”

Don’t have much to say

One paw out the door
before Knox notices it’s
raining. He pauses.
Upon consideration,

Pausing for starlings
as they leisurely make their way
across roads and fields.

Upon arising
I saw several birds,

and clouds vie for dominion.
Today the clouds seem
to be winning, but have faith,
the sun’s light is always there.
JDG
The silence
challenged the birds.
Before the sun rose
they begged me
to feed them
so they could
fill the air
with song.

In the dark of night
cold weather slips in, but takes
off when Sheriff Sun arrives.
JDG
Just wondering.Is
it blasting leaf blower or
blasted leaf blower?
JDG
Lawns are overwhelmed
with trees’ multiple gifts of
gently falling leaves.
