Food For Thought

Even though she was the only waitress

in a quickly filling room,

she moved among us

calm and unhurried,

took careful note of each request,

and with a quiet happiness,

brought each of us our choice.

left the restaurant

as much nourished by her presence

as by my meal.

  1. A beautiful tribute that illustrates the power of graciousness to touch our lives if we take the time to notice.
